RRD Firewave - Wave/Freestylewave
240 cm x 86 litres
RRD Freestyle/Wave Limited Edition (carbon kevlar model) 86 litres.
(not the Firewave, but can't edit the title)
This is one of RRD's classic FSW models that won lots of test reviews and is by far one of the easiest boards I've ever owned when riding in choppy conditions, due to the V in it's bottom shape as well as its big, soft marshmallow footpads.
It's the same model Jem Hall used in some of his 'tuition sections' in the windsurf mags and came very highly recommended.
It also has the US box fin system which allows for a variety of fin placements.
(being able to move the fin forward to loosen up the ride)
This board planes really early for its volume, slices smoothly through choppy water, is fast and manoeuvrable, and remains comfortable even when the wind really kicks in.
At 86 litres (240x58), I found it a great volume to get out and planing when the seabreezes kicked in. I could use it anywhere from 4.2 up to 6.5 sails (by putting in a 28cm centre fin)
Great graphics and in awesome condition.
Comes with the super comfy RRD foot straps by Da Kine and original MFC fin.
(happy to throw in a slightly smaller, top quality fin (Naish G10 wave) to ensure versatility)
The stand out feature for me is something I've found with all RRD boards, is how smooth it is in bumpy conditions.
(ie Port Phillip Bay chop!!)
No Dings, very good condition. $590
- Feel free to come and have a look.
