Don't miss the Jules Verne trophy. It's looking good right now. Watch them weave through the southern Ocean. Hooked into a good low right now. 631.9 NM ahead of IDEC Sport's 2017 record run.

12 days in and a day ahead of record pace. Seems to have just fallen off the back of that low pressure. IDEC Sport ( virtual, shown in red) apparently surfed one pressure system for quite a ways when circling Antarctica

There was a great article on one of the French sites about this recently. Apparently Idec just sat infront of a low for almost a week. A situation where you don't want to go too fast and outrun the low. Gitana was slowing down as they sailed out of the breeze infront of a low. They did say Idec got very lucky with that particular low and was definately one of the big contributing factors to them breaking the record.

Oh well. Click on the video in the link to see them wallowing in the Southern Ocean. They were going well, full marks for being on the pace.
