If that is the next big thing that will happen soon with the growing power of social media platforms? Like Facebook? Let's consider my example.I am considering the purchase on the latest quad bike by Honda.Selling here in Australia at $12.500 but the same could be bought in the USA at $6500 retail.
Taking into account shipping, GST, and port cost, it is still 30% cheaper than here. What if similar enthusiasts could organize bulk purchases in the USA and bring the whole containers of 30 units (?)I think that in nearest future something like that happens, on social media and the internet that people will organize themselves in order to beat the excessive prices we pay here in Australia on everything.

TRX420.
I imagine that in the nearest future company, an organization here will be formed to streamline bulk community orders.
Website or applet where people could combine their interest in specific items in order to reach bulk size orders, then can be processed by this parallel import organizer.IN this example all is needed - 30 people willing to risk parral importing at a discounted price.

Japan has a service my wife uses. She purchases items from different retailers that are sent to a company that puts the individual items from diff companies into one box. Then when the box is filled it is sent to Australia at a significant saving in postage plus whatever she saved purchasing the items.

Bali also has similar services for stuff like the big stone & glass craft that gets sent over to Oz.

I've always found that US shipping costs have destroyed any savings made on the initial purchase.

Right, why that shipping from USA is designed only for benefit of couriers companies not ordinary people on the both sides of the border?
As to USA they possibly could benefit massively , being able to ship their good to all over the world , not only Australia.Their internal shipping costs inside country are quire reasonable. But items send overseas should even attract additional promotion as export outside the county,
That is clear benefit for them if they could buy bulk staff in Japan ( or anywhere) and send at the profit somewhere else ( to Australia or Europe)

I am guessing it is expensive because its easy. Like some ebay purchases here. Log a request with a courier company, or even simpler, contact pack and send, and pay someone else to do the work you don't want to do in sending something.

At the moment that is me enjoying original USA made electric quad. Not many of those around. Looks like was build to win Middle East Desert War, with so much power, toque and speed.
Unsurprising while driving is almost completely noiseless.

Another nice thing about vehicle: I could now run for free, charge absolutely free from my off grid solar panels.

For comparison I have another made in China; 800w motor against +20,000W USA made,
20Ah/ 60V lead acid battery against 120Ah /80V Lithium battery.

but prices may explain the difference too: $1,000 versus $20,000+

I'm seriously interested in this machine, the Land Care Robot. If its not the next generation of tractors the next generation will look like it.

What I like about it is the design is it takes into account there is no operator. So the cost is reduced. Costs are also reduced by using standard parts, computer and sensors. Also it has a standard 3 point hitch and PTO shaft means it can be connected to a large number of implements. This machine looks like its in the early production stage and is listed at a base price of $14800 US in America. So I guess it would cost about $10K more landed here in Australian currency.
