Hi! Just started foilboarding and also doing a lot of snowkiting during winter I was recommended to buy the Hyperlink 13m for light wind. Reason was that it could be used both as open and closed cells.
My main scope for winter is longer tourriding in the mountains with back packk, bringing only two kites (For instance HL 13m and the one I already have, Ozone Subzero 7m (i also have the 9m).
If i was a millionaire I would probably buy separate kites for various conditions on sea and snow. But I don?t need it to work perfectly. I just need a good kite for lightwind that can work well both on foilboard and snowkiting. Should I also look on other brands than Ozone (though I already have 5 line bars for Ozone-kites).

Hi..
Alot of fanboy/girl people here for PEAK4..
If u don't drop your kite in water much then suggest read reviews.. I rarely use my LEI now .. Yet to take Peak to snow fields...
Not perfect for water.. I am currently experimenting with small fixed position balloons in wing pouches.. I got caught in tidal flow when ran into sandbank the kite swamped in a few seconds.. Unlikely to get LEI up in same circumstances but the bridal tangle was a b..ugger.
Always have a net bag with me for v.rare packdown swim..
Cheers

Personally I would hardly ever use a 13m on a foil. above 10 knots you can be on a 8m.

But why not use a hyperlink.

Considering the Peak4 is designed as a snow kite, that would be my first choice. (Disclosure: I sell Flysurfer kites)

First you can see in the video below what a Peak4 can do and the safety features designed therein. Hands down when set up correctly, the Peak4 is the safest kite you can use on land. And when that land is mountainous and the wind gusty safety matters. You can also use the peak4 on any 4 line bar with equal lines though the Connect bar from Flysurfer is inexpensive, simple and lightweight. The Connect bar also is configurable for the 5th line B safe system but if you have 5 line Ozone bars they should be able to perform this function as well.

The Peak4 is low cost and very quick to set up and take down. You could buy at least two Peak4's, (depending on size), for the cost of one twin skin foil kite. This means you can take at least 2 Peak4 kites with you snow touring as they'll fit in a small backpack. The largest 13m Peak4 weighs just over 1.5 kg and the 6m and smaller kites are all under 1kg. 5m and up Peak4's will fly in 3knots of wind.

Peak4 kites are also fantastic for surf hydrofoiling with the most fun kites being 6m and smaller. Don't be fooled by the small Peak4 kites as they have a lot of power for their size and instant power, depower and quick turning at all parts of the wind window. But the most significant characteristic of a Peak4 in surf is the incredible drift which enables you to surf with the foil without the kite getting in the way.

There are plenty of other videos on Youtube featuring the Peak4 on snow and foiling.

Same Same, i have peak4 for foiling and will be my snow kite (not this year though....).

have used ozone gear a lot in the snow, if you have the money buy a chrono... or instead buy 3 peaks!

out today foiling on a 5m, large-ish wing and cruising in 12kt. I will probably get a bigger peak for the snow but i doubt i will use it any other time.

Hi Kristian
i guess it's hard to answer the question with out knowing a few things. So I'll answer relative to me. I'm 85kg, 56 yrs old, fit, been foiling for a couple of years and snow kited only twice powder of Japan & the ice of Australia. (I will do more). I've been snowboarding for almost 30 yrs n kite boarding for more than 10.
I bought a Chrono V2 13 to use in both snow and water. I now have hyperlink 9 & 5m. I haven't been to the snow since buying the smaller kites.
I used the 13 in the snow when the wind was super light, about 5 or 6 knots, and got going & upwind. On the water the large size of the 13 was great for learning to foil, as the power was smooth and I could just park n ride. Now I know how to foil I never use the 13, it's too slow and heavy and I can get enough power out of my 9. (I can start to foil in about 10-12 knots)
if I were buying a fresh with limited funds, my largest kite would be an 11m hyper link, then either a 5 or 7.
hope that helps.
cheers
D
