hey guys
I'm not sure anyone makes specialist foil boards for jumping or if you have used and abused a production board without breaking?
Cheers

Hi Sonny,
I build pocket boards and yes I jump them.
What sort of length were you thinking?
Board can be build with extra reinforcement around the critical areas.

good to know ..at this stage I'm thinking one board for both speed and big air so something like Lavitaz below;
"The Match comes ready to fly, with an accessory bag, 3 freeride straps and foil mount hardware.Length142 cm (4?8")Width44 cm (17.3")Thickness4,5 cm (1.8")Volume21 literFoilmountFUTURES. track system with industry-standard 90mm width"

TBH - I'm not sure if it's worth going the custom route but just throwing some ideas around.

I have a J Shapes 120cm Freeride board in carbon. I use it for everything. It's got 700 hours on it. It's light as a feather and absolutely indestructible.

I prefer to jump it with the smaller Freeride foil, about 650cm. It loads up nicely and handles makes a beautiful zzzzziiiipppp noise as it carves and releases. It better handles flat landings.

My favourite foil is the Cruzer at 950cm. It jumps ok but the larger area and low aspect mean that flat landings can result in a loud crunching noise. The foil is standing up ok with 650 hours on it. Some of the paint has flaked off in the stress areas.

J Shapes will make whatever you like. Send them an email. Or check out the post from the guy above. I would have thought any custom foil board maker could make something strong enough for jumping.

Slingshots boards are by far the ones I have repaired the most. From failing tracks to crushed rails....Plenty of pics on the web to back up this claim. All brands will showcase their riders going big but none will tell you how many boards their riders go through each season.RAW boards are for sure the ducks nuts. Michael is famous for throwing big airs.

this is what I have heard re-sligshot hypermiler...I think if you are a dedicated jumper it's hard to find a normal production board ..both Jshapes and Raw look good as they can customise with extra layers

Yeah there are some great custom board builders out there.
It's tough for big brands to match the strength of locally made labour intensive customs.
I've spent time in the Carbo Co factory. I've seen the amount of skill and craftsmanship that goes into each board.
Tough to produce at the volume big brands require.

I have a Carbon Co board that I've been using with an Axis foil and yes they're very solid but still light.

I have Moses and RAW, a friend has RAW and Duotone.
Beautiful boards, a work of art, photos do not do them justice.
Sorry for such large photos almost life like.
