A friend put me onto an awesome free App called WAZE. Basically a navigation app that joins other drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info including fixed and hidden speed cameras. Saved me many times already from sneaky placed cameras on my way down south and the navigation works really well. Had to share...Gold!

Not very kitesurfing related... but yes it's a good app. The problem is there aren't enough users in Australia so you can't really rely on it all the time, especially for hidden mobile speed cameras. Australia has to be the world leaders in terms of hidden mobile cameras.

In the USA, Waze is incredibly efficient and useful due to the large amount of users.

Google, who own's Waze, have recently started to include Waze's functionalities right into Google Maps. That's awesome news.

When driving in the US or Canada, I find Waze is more useful for traffic jams, accident warnings, etc. Waze is very a resource hungry and data hungry app to run, so combining it into Google Maps will give it a brighter future.

In my first year in Perth I used to drive 10k over the limit (as you do without any worries whatsoever in Canada/US), but that didn't last very long...

The best bit about Waze for me is the journey tracker. If you have mates coming down to the beach from further afield, you can time your arrival based on their live journey.

Problem is....It's not worth touching your phone while driving! The fine is just not worth it. So when you get to your destination you have forgot what the issue was or are unclear on the details.

Coze the speed limits are too low in many places and if you missed a sign somewhere you'd never guess it was so low...

Not being arsey but I genuinely feel sorry for crew that have to live with such issues in their daily lives,
On the odd occasion I have to do the 4 he trip to the big smoke, usually in the traffic jam I look at people and feel sorry that they subject themselves to sitting in their cars for hrs each day,
Its a great system your in, if I was you I'd get out of it
