Bought a brand new 2021 duotone clickbar and noticed that the bar is sticky when running up and down the line. I'm positive this should be smooth and easy to slide the bar in and out. Has anyone else had this issue and know a fix?

Its inherent in the rubbish design. When click bars were first released I fishpoled one that was mounted on a wall, to test its tendacy to bind during that action. Fail. My comment was "that's gonna be no effin good". I still am most keen on bars that have no PU covering over the main chicken loop line but they are now few and far between, so I do my own mods if needed. On their latest bar Reedin have a similar square shaped center PU housing for the main and safety line, but the bars centre piece has been designed specifically to combat binding.

Had the same problem - couldn't find a solution other than to get rid of it.

Hi Kiersten,

One of the biggest cause of the bar not running smoothly through the length of the de-power is the way you roll it up. If you wrap the depower around the bar ends to keep it nice and tidy, this bends the depower cover material and prevents it sitting straight. If you pull the chicken loop all the way down 'til the stopper at the top hits the bar, leave it like that and roll the lines. Don't roll the PU coated centre line around the bar.

This will help in many cases but if you want something totally free running, you need a bar with no PU covered line and just accept you will be replacing centre lines on a regular basis.

Usually if I have that problem is just because the PU is a bit twisted, making it straight with my hand fix the issue.

Thanks for this. I'm a newbie to the sport and just got a replacement bar that has a PU tube for the lines to run through. I didn't know about rolling the PU tube around the bar causing problems so would have stuffed it up doing that like on my old bar with no PU tube. You have saved me a potential headache.
