Hi guys,
Havnt posted anything on here for ages now so just thought id share a little edit I made the other day with my new gopro max 360 camera. Love this thing so far, almost like having a camera man. Editing is a bit tricky trying to find the footage you want out of the whole 360 degree video but worth it in the end. Camera was just plugged into the sand for most of the video. Anyway winds up here in Bowen so im off to give it another go.

Nice one man. How did you get the camera to pan?

All done in the gopro app. You select where you want the screen to face at any point in time, then it links all the points together as a smoothish video. Little bit tricky and time consuming. Hopefully be easier on the computer. This vid was made on my phone.

Nice!!!!!

Too many edits with the 360 cameras make it look like a toddler has been in charge of the editing (zoom to tiny planet - zoom out - repeat). First time I have seen anyone use one on a fixed position.

Have you seen Tom Courts video where he sticks a pole on the back of his harness? That can give a nice angle as you can see the looping of the kite.

I have the GoPro Fusion. I found editing videos on ipad really easy. You have to have the gyros enabled in the app.

You stand holding the ipad out in front of you and move it like you're shooting the video with the ipad. Do a few practice runs then do it for real.

knowing that the clip was shot on a 360 camera i think thats a brilliant result. A nice change from the pov provided by the regular Hero. And much appreciate the conventional framing instead of the tiny planet stuff. One question - the final render is vertical - great for instagram, but could you also have chosen a horizontal image for youtube?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yeah I hate all that zoom out small world looking stuff. Cool for the first time then its useless. I like the fact it records every thing. So you can just plug on a stick and do things in front/behind/ over it and get the whole thing now matter what.
My next idea is a really cheap jetski with a head mount. Then follow just behind and upwind of people really close. Should get some really good clips like that too.
Also regarding the framing, yeah you can frame it any aspect you like. Not sure how i manged to create and upload this whole video without noticing i chose the worst one lol. Looks alright on the phone but thats about it.

Also that harness mount looks awesome. You can buy one called wizz mount. Definatly best mount out there i think. Its like a 3rd person video game
