Cant make it, doin bucket list trip from Vic to NT, Kimberlies and a few days in Darwin instead of Bali this year ! Have fun guys, will miss the darwin/bali crew and bintangs. So tempted to do a few days in Bali from Darwin.

Makin tracks going to bali or staying home ?

BTW is Lake Argyle kiteable ?

Consolation prize was 10 days in Maui a couple of weeks ago.

I thought the kiting was pretty ordinary in Bali?

Last time I went in winter it was 15/16kts at the best of times..

Yep , that's about it.
We are happy with that.

It not necessarily about the kiting , it's the vibe of the thing. The Darwin Kite Crew and the great Sanur Bali mob who look out for us at Ni Putu ( Putu in the photo with Kojak)
Look at the faces of the Dutch couple in the photo... Floor and Bob . We only met them that day, Happy as hell.
Waves , Bintang , Jacks Fish and happy people.

You either get it or you don't...good for the soul and we do have some good kiting, but be prepared with bigger gear.

OK fair enough from Darwin it makes sense since it's only a 1 hour or so flight.

Coming from Sydney or Melbourne it would be hard to justify.

That's it .Well said.

But we are used to light wind kiting....which softens expectations.

If you want full on serious kiting go somewhere else or stay at home.

We have fun , kite most days on 12 to 17 and bigger boards. If no wind ... well, you have seen the photos.
Accomodation 1 minute from the beach. Good cheap, food everywhere.
Fun to big waves, flat water for some trickery , surfing , supping , happy partners and Sanur is quiet and relaxing. Good spot to bring the fam also.

Cheers.
