Same as pretty much anything else...

I doubt Gong sells for over $75k on the Australian market so any order for less than $1000 should not attract GST.If above $1000 you will pay GST+ Custom fee (I believe it is around 5%)+ admin fee (around $50 or $80, can't remember).

The value of $1000 does not include the shipping component.

Typically, for import values in excess of $1000, you receive a phone call from the carrier who will take your payment (GST+custom fee+admin charge) over the phone prior to delivering the goods.

I've been riding GONG for a while now. V1 and V2 strutless. Now just had my UNIKs delivered yesterday. I'll be in Perth from 23.12 til 2.2 and am happy to meet up for people to test.
I also ride GONG ALLVATOR with 80 and 45 mast and an happy to share it if anyone is interested in testing.

GONG customer service has been spectacular. They have a customer service guy named Jaime, he's American, so their ability to communicate in English is great.

Because you're outside of the EU the prices will be 20% less (EU sales tax) than listed on the webpage.

Doesn't look any cheaper than buying last season's (unused) from a big reputable brand.

Agree.
But to my knowledge these brands do not have everyday free foil light strutless kites that are even close to Cloud or Gong regardless of price.

Some might argue that the 'quoted' weight of the Ozone Alpha is pretty close to the weight of the strutless kites. Though whether you can get the sizes you want for clear out prices is arguable.

Assume you are looking at the strutless gong rather than the unik? Which size are you going for? Be interested in hearing how you find it. I have only had a really short session on the v2 version.

Interested to hear how you find it. I have only flown the v2 6m and underpowered at that. I liked it more than the 8m Storm kitesurfing strutless kite I tried (too much aspect - so power really kicked in once you got going). I remember the gong strutless was easier to stall than some of the big name brands but nice enough to fly.
