Hi all. I am looking for information on how much fun it would be to have a gun board like the one on the F1 site under concept boards. This would be just for fun blasting around my local choppy bay. Any feedback welcome.
Hi balsa, blasting around Port Phillip is one of my favourite things. Some years ago I had an Airush Sector 52 which combined nicely with a 13m Edge for decent upwind speed and insane speed off the wind. Later I used a Shinnster with 2014 Catalysts. With practise the Shinnster can smash upwind pretty well and is fun for playing with little waves on the way back down. Now it's foil all the way for me. Ridiculous ability to cover ground in a big range of conditions unless there are crazy jellyfish swarms like we had in December. Many options.
Questions are - strapped or unstrapped? Playing with waves, or purely seeking speed? What kites will it be paired up with? Do you play where the water is deep enough for a foil, or do you need to/want to navigate sandbars, reefs etc.
Not looking for a light wind board here l already have a alia and sector 54 which l see as light wind boards.. The f1 gun thing is 2 metre long very thin and narrow so thinking it's all about blasting in powered conditions. Only been kiting a couple of years and old as the hills so l not interested in foiling. I kite balnarring & like playing in white water rye.
