I've lucked upon some Ozone C4 V6 kites at a good price and have been enjoying them in the freeride setting. I watched the YouTube video of Jake talking about the difference between 4 and 5 lines and am considering switching to a 5 line setup. Unfortunately the bar didn't come with the 5th line so I'm going to have to purchase one. Is it worth it for freeride? Jake reckons the gust handling is improved, which is something I value. Are there any downsides?

I changed mine to 5th line. I reckon it's improved the rigidity if the arc a bit and flies a bit better.

What bar and lines are you using with it? I have both the 38cm C4 bar with 23m lines and regular 50cm bar with 25m lines but didn't get on with the C4 bar. It just felt wrong.

I bought an airush 5 line comp bar from a local store that had it on clearance. I too didn't like the idea of the ozone bar..... the conversion means that the 5th line is just chucked onto the 4 line bar but does not act as the safety seemed a bit weird tbh. If I'm flying a 5 line I definitely want that 5th line to be my safety.

I think it's a 50cm bar that I put on. Can't remember, but it's for a 12 so I didn't want a tiny one

You can also use any airush 4 line bar smart bar 2012+ and turn to full sliding 5th with just a single kite line (cut down any line longer than your current lines but it needs to be sleeveless on the sewn loop of the line at the bar end so it slides through the stopper and chickenloop)

5th line safety is the only way for me even if not used or riding the safety on it the majority of time. when the **** hits the fan the reassurance that 5th line provides even if not used is very welcoming.

Why would they do that?
