I dont think a single one will be sold in australia at retail price. Few giveaways and demos but aussies dont just blindly buy into marketing. As much as it hurts me to say this were a bit smarter then alot of the world. Our whole tall poppy syndrome makes new products particularly hard. Were a proveing ground for a reason.

But then again this place is awash with clowns on foils so what do i know

Yep thought like you, it looks so boring, like foiling in general. Had a go on a wing and it is actually good fun. Not sure how adding 20m of string to the equation makes kiting so macho and hetro but each to their own. 99% of kiters just mow the lawn. Will not replace anything it is just another toy. Best thing is the quick setup and pack down and you can launch in a crowded beach or nonkite areas. Flame away

Nah, the only ones that will buy them right now are the cashed up type that will pay full retail without blinking...

It's got its place, especially for foil suppers. Especially when the wind is flukey and/or little room to launch a kite.

Just surmising, I think it would also definitely suite those foil suppers who come from a windsurfing background. Being unhooked and also the ability to kill the wind instantly...might actually give you the body angle needed to carve top to bottom (if you are good enough on a foil), that only unhooked wave riders on a kite get... and most of us don't do that.

it's got its place.

Feedback from those that have used one that I know personally, is pretty good actually. It's not mind blowing but a useful piece of equipment given its intended use.

Your selling points are so absurd eppo i dont know where to start. I can launch a kite anywhere you can fit a sup foilboard. Wind is flukey?!? What like in an inland creek lined by wattle gums?! Nonsense

Cashed up type? This is australia everyones a cashed up type. People buy cars with centrelink cash in this land matey. Cartons of rum for 80 and a deck a dieing brians for 40

Anyone with a windsurfing background seen these the first time around and they laughed then, but i bet its not so funny this time round more disrespectful then funny. Why do we have to be so gimmicky? You dont see football trying to push cubes on people every decade. I cant think of any other sport thats like this. When there is very clear and obvious innovations to be made (parakite)

Next youll be telling me its the way of the future cause you wont hit your head on anything hard.

Its the worst of both worlds as often is the case when you blend 2 things and slowly you massage out the kinks and make it better or on par. But at end of the day what does it even do?!? Wheres the benefit to useing it? What can it do that nothing else can? What problem is it solveing?

I honestly believe waimans drug addled mind invented a far superiour device that does everything better then a inflatable windwing. And its hands free just strap the carrot to your back and your done. Even Takeshi's castle had hands free version
Just a giant playing card strapped to the contestants backs and they had to play a game of football with some giant industrial fans blowing them all over the pitch.

The sad part of all this is it made business sense. Low cost make no development costs materials dont need to be sourced etc etc etc thats all the entire excercise is.

Maybe ive been watching to much Black mirror lately but i would not be surprised if it was just a giant excercise in learning where the dumbest/most susceptible to advertiseing customers were.

ok I will!

What do the sailboarders do in yr area that warrants the statement as a point of difference?

I've seen a lot of sailboaders/windsurfers in my coastal area ranging from Coffs Harbour to Sydney which is a fair population sample compared to many other areas without going into statistics. I ve actually seen one ride waves and one other visiting from Melbourne area pull some pretty impressive freestyle, but the 1000's of others just do speed runs and very big majority of that don't even gybe turn.

so what percentage of sail boarders mow the lawn?

Who cares? I only see them at wave locations so the wing would not be used there. Don't really see your point. This is a kite forum, if I wanted to discuss pole dancing I would go to their forum. I was responding to the title of the thread and the negative comments about it being "gay" and kiting is so much more macho because I have 20m of string between the bar (boom) and the kite (wing). I would say your guess about windsurfers mowing the lawn is accurate.

Hey you may be right.

But I've seen them in use and talked to those who have actually used them on foil sups. So this is all I have to go on.

What about you mate? You used them yet ? Do you foil? or is all your rhetorical bantering just based on what's in your own head?

Based on the recent posts on the Wing surfer, Kitesurfers have just become the new Windsurfers, ie irrelevant to the discussion and just protecting there own little corner of the sporting world

You c**TS are all really homophobic!!

Wingsurfers look fun in some ways, quite lame in some ways, I don't think they will ever surpass windsurfing or kiting but then they're never really meant to. They definitely have a place though. Why bother bashing something that you have no experience with and has no effect on your life.

Move on people!!

And be nicer to gay people
