Hi all, any info on the Ballina area for a beginner just starting out. Any instructors around here? Or are you on your own? Switching from riding sailboards in the waves to kitesurfing.

Hi BlowMeAway

I suggest you get in touch with Jason at Byron Bay Kitesurfing www.byronbaykitesurfing.com

Jason is an excellent instructor and has been working around your area for a very long time

Agreed, Jason does a fair bit of teaching up here on the goldy and is a very professional, considerate teacher....

Another instructor who I have found to be very professional is Jamie Symons from Skyhigh Kitesurfing who also teaches around Byron/Tweed...

And one more who lives in Lennox is Aaron Coopersmith from Earth Kitesurfing 0407960887. Aaron teaches in Ballina and Lennox Head.
All the other guys are good too, just not teaching in Ballina. Make sure you come and say hello in Lennox when its blowing NE, we always meet at the carpark to the south of the SLSC, if you have a 4WD you can join in on the seven mile downwinders.
