I've just started to switch my quiver and bought a 14m Enduro V2 last week!!
10m Enduro on order (moreover i'll pick one up when the 10 & 8m Lithiums on consignment at The Zu Boardsports in St Kilda have been sold).

Was running a 14/10/8 Airush Lithium quiver for last 6 years. Was looking for something with a wider and softer power range with good drift and an all-rounder capability to improve on.

Quick question for the Enduro riders out there. What would be the best two-kite Enduro combo for me?
I weigh in at around 116kg. 7 years kiting. Intermediate. Usually ran a 14m Lithium from 17-18 knots (absolute minimum) up to say about 24 knots. The 10m would carry me from a solid 21-22 knots up to 30-ish. 8m from about 28 knots up to 36+ until it gets gnarly........

So should I run a 14m/10m Enduro quiver or 14m/11m Enduro quiver? Am I splitting hairs?
I understand the Enduros have a wider wind range, so leaning toward the 14/10 to cover the maximum range with two kites.
But I weigh a tone and don't like being under-powered, hence the 11m being a possibility?

For background, I used the old 8m Lithium about 5-6 times in nearly 4 years.
My weight made it difficult, the 8 had to be in exactly the right spot in the window to work or it would stall.
The wind and water state was pretty hard work at that end of the spectrum, so not something I really I pushed into.
Thoughts out there?

Dunno about 116kgs. Cause I share with my wife, we have 6, 8 10, 12 and 14m enduros. The 10m is the biggest size Enduro that can still loop good, the 12m is too slow but does nice floaty jumps. I'd definitely pick the 10m over the 11m for fun and it should e big enough for Melb winter winds but probably not the seabreezes.

On the other hand, a 4m gap is pretty massive, I wouldn't usually go more than 3m...

I'd get the 10m and a light wind board cause it's such a fun kite.

P.S. not really loving the 14m. Surprisingly, it cant get me going that well at all in 12 knots with a big board and 25m lines. By the time the wind gets to 14 knots, I can just as easily jump on the 12m. I dont think my 14m will get much use at all.

Tbh a kite as an enduro will lose a lot of its qualities above 12 I'd bet it'd be unrecognised
compared to other sizes , and I own a 8/10, max I'd go is 12 then swap to a totally different model , for me a 17 zephyr or 15 edge if I made a purchase ,

Q:

I have an 8m 2013 Catalyst that I use maybe a dozen times a year. I'm about to go on an epic trip O/S.

Should I upgrade to an 8m EV2 or not worth it? On the one hand I'd rather $1500 bucks in my bank. But on the other, well, epic trip coming up

If you said 15/16 cat in decent condition I would say don't worry about buying another, but 2013 cat, yep, I would take a newer kite.

You could buy the 8. Take it for the trip and just list in classifieds when you get back.

I'm more interested in where you're procuring an 8m new ozone for $1500..........

Ive been enjoying my 10m V2 for 3 months now 87kg with 44 bronq combo you can get out in 15 knts and go right through to just under 30 with ease with 41 bronq.

Looping feels natural with clean predictable pull all the way through the loop.
I have a quiver of V9 edges and to be honest the enduro boosts near as good as the edge and can get decent float....but youll be looping and downlooping your landings its just too addictive not to.
The bridal makes that jet sounds when fully lit up in a loop too lol.
Loops are nice and tight which is great for freestyle backroll transitions etc
I have not tried any other settings yet but the centre at the leading edge and fastest turn on steer.
Drift is good ...relaunch no problem.

If the budget allows get yourself a V2...you wont regret it.
It does things an edge wont.

I also run the newest one click ozone chicken loop and bar....it is much smoother on the swivel to untwist your lines than the Megatron , not that youll need to cos you ll be reverse looping just for fun to untwist your lines .

The new bar caught me out when rigging up and is a bit tricky with the newer colors when you first start to use it but it becomes natural fast.

Trim toggle feels smooth and is a plus on an already clean bar setup.

Nice looking lines but mine already have looping fade.

Power up or down knot adjustments are now under the floats rather than up at the kite end.
I like that.

Smooth fresh feel over all and you cant help but think when on the water that OZONE got it right again.
Rock solid Very Happy.

Thanks!

I should clarify, I already have a V2 in 12m, as well as a 10m 2015 Cat. To be honest I don't think these two are all that different. But then I'm only an intermediate kiter.

Slap it on the freestyle, such a connected feel but with a bit of caution, no where near as much depower, had a few beach drags in its top end

Surely that V3 will be coming out soon? Keen to give that a test for a new quiver.

Come on Steve, we must be getting close to release of V3 by now! I've been holding out on a new purchase for some time. Any intel of the new Enduro would be appreciated.

The next kite that Ozone plan to release is the V10 Edge, which will be available for dealers to order in the next week or so, public release will be end of September or 1st October, than after that the V6 Zephyr,

Enduro will not go to V3 until around this time next year.

How does the Enduro go for foiling in lightish (say 10-15 knot) winds?

I like to dabble in a bit of everything (foil, strapless freestyle, waves, twin tip) and I'm currently riding Neos for my smaller kite sizes (6 & 8 metres) and Dices for larger sizes (10 & 12). Considering switching to a quiver of Enduros as they're a bit lighter than the Dice (so I assume better for foiling in marginal winds) and I've heard they're also a bit better in waves.

I've foiled on the 10m enduro and it was surprisingly good. The lighter build will help a lot.

To add however I grabbed a 8 and 10 cheap set of 2014 reos purely for foiling and wave riding. Exceptional foil kite and figured rather than try and fit one kite for everything get some specialist kites for the above and a specialist kite for jumping freeriding etc like the 2017 rebel 10m I run. Rather than get kites that are kind of okay at everything but not the best at what you want it for. Anyhow hope that helps.

Cheers for your input Eppo. Yeah the idea of foil/wave specific kites make sense for sure. I am considering the idea of going a couple of Reos or even a light wind specific kite such as the Alpha for foil and surf. But then then negative is when travelling you've potentially got to bring twice as many kites, instead of a couple that are ok at everything but exceptional at nothing... I guess there's positives and negatives either way you go.
