Thinking of getting a Woo but second guessing after reading about peoples gripes....
Anybody on here use them and what do you have to say about their durability or experiences dealing with the company?
Cheers
I kinda want one to see how high I jump but when it comes to spending 3hunge I always have better things to spend my money on.
Plus if I bought one I'd have to confront my own old man overexageration of Jump height when I jumped actually 3m but thought I was a legend and jumped 45m.
How could I proclaim insane boostage when in reality my ballsacks barely stopped scraping the water?

They are a toy, I had the same thinking bought a second hand woo 2 after 2 failed attempts to start recording, my error, I finally got 1 session in, I know I don't jump high but I guessed I'd be at least 3m on average but when it downloaded info it said I had a 1.2 m jumps with a 4 sec hangtime, ant there was 1m kicker waves so I know I was more than 1.2 off the wave just from hitting them, so in conclusion they are toys, so treated as such. I will still try again just to see if it was an error, who knows next time it might go the other way and give me a 10m jump

Man reality can be a cruel mistress.
I know these things are a bit of a toy. But I'm not asking for opinions on that.
I specifically want to know:
A) If you have one, how long has it been running (ie has it leaked and become another broken electronic piece of junk)
B) If it broke, was woo willing to replace it? I can't see any info on their website re: warranty or even a "contact us" option.... a bummer because I want to "contact us" as in "them" to ask about what happens if it's leaky
C) I see on their website they have a guy with a waterproof smartwatch that it's linked to... where can I get one of those, how cheap, and I guess it links to my phone if I don't have a smart watch?
D) Do I get a chocolate fish if I pull the biggest air? Cause I will
They're a toy, but if they're internally consistent then you can compare yourself and your mates, which is a bit of fun. Just don't make claims real heights, I'm sure they're not that accurate.
Boosting off waves is an interesting thing, cos if you land in the flats between waves you don't get the credit for the drop.
Gives some appreciation of what the big boys are doing with them, anyway.
I got a 3 in the pre-order campaign so it was much cheaper. No issues with it so far.

There's a list of watches they can pair with, but I don't think any are cheap.
Facebook seems to be the most reliable way to contact them.
I enjoy the game of Woo, but its quite humbling when your one of your crew is in the top 5 in AU!
You've got that Bridges chap, and we've got Marc Jacobs. Good luck with setting records

Have had a Woo 2 for about 2.5 years with 111 hours of use over 148 sessions so far. Only issues are the rubber exterior is starting to peel off which may affect watertightness soon, and the battery is starting to lose its charge a lot quicker that it used to.
As for the biggest air, the woo will give you some solid stats but can be quite variable in its accuracy. Based on my gut feeling it never seems to read higher than reality, but on occasions will record some jumps maybe up to 20% less than you thought they were in a session.

Cool, this is the sort of stuff I want to know.
And u just used your phone with it?
Woo2 I have doesn't have capability to use phone or watch pairing to get GPS integration like the Woo3 now has.
Heres an example of Woo accuracy.
A few days ago at Woodies jumping off kickers 20-40 knots 12m..
Next day at Cottesloe doing little jumps 20-30 knots 13.9m..
Im giving it away for free to a hard charging gal that has a pb of 11m on Woo 2
Gonna buy a gayPro instead..

A+B) First one (woo2) lasted ~20 sessions before it died and wouldn't start (likely water intrusion). Got it warrantied through Aus distributer.
2nd one lasted ~40 sessions but lost it (left behind I think)
3rd one was Woo3 on the opening sales. Lasted ~15 sessions and wouldn't charge. Talked to Woo direct who tried to resurrect it, but eventually shipped out a replacement.
4th one has been going strong after ~30 sessions.
Initially I'd have said that they would fail pretty often, but there were 3 other Woo2's in the local crew and all seemed to last the distance.
Borrowed a woo2 while my woo3 was being shipped and the woo2 in the new woo3 was no problem.
C) I was super keen on this feature as immediate feedback is a great way to learn what did & didn't work. Starting point is ~$400 for a IP7 rated watch that it could link to. I've been though 2 GPS watches, 5 action cameras & 2 (cheap) phones used for GPS. Most died though high impact or water intrusion, so I'm a little hesitant on spending big on something that's likely to not last a year. Still keen though and if a sale comes up I'd very much like to give it a try (got my eye on Fossil gen4 as a the lightest weight option).
D) If you have a competitive streak it really adds extra incentive to the session, and winning the local spot or the Aussie charts is challenging and rewarding. It also helps get the local crew more interested if there's healthy competition.
Woo's are good for generating height stats, but really need additional metrics (like video or GPS) to help learn what works and what doesn't to go higher. If you learn through analysis and reflection and care about height it's very much worth it.
