does anyone know some good flat (flatish) water spots for a beginner to practice around South Australia/ adelaide

Largs is good for learning. Often fairly flat in a sw seabreeze.
Sugars beach on Hindmarsh island is another popular flat water spot for newbies.

Im down at goolwa now and did go to the mouth and I live at semaphore so now just need to keep going

Can anyone comment on water depth at sugars beach please. Not great at water starts yet, thanks

Not sure about depth, but talking to other guys, Port Parham on incoming tide (a must) is suppose to be a great flat water spot that is shallow for 100's of metres. I haven't checked it out yet but I will soon.
