Hi Adelaide kiters. I am staying at Christie's Beach until Next March. Being a keen QLD kiter and an ex Adelaidian myself...I have kited a few times the metropolitan area Seacliff Grange etc but never seen kites at Christie's Beach or Port Noarlunga or Southport.

Has anyone kited this area avoiding the possible hazards like the Noalunga Jetty, reef and life savers etc. It would be good as I could walk to the beach. Or is this area possibly avoided for a reason. I am used to mainly flat water kiting but don't mind playing in the surf and have previously kited at Moana. I assume a SSW or SW wind would work best in this area. Cheers

I kited the esplanade at the end of Brodie rd. Used to sail at the club at Christies Beach. Seaford n Triggs are good and also Moana. Plenty of mid coast spots but there's always a stronger and better breeze at Semaphore. Worth the drive as it'll be 6-8 knots at Christies and 18-24 at Semaphore in a S/westerly Summer Seabreeze!
