Will be in Brisbane Monday and the wind looks decent. Have only kited Brighton/sandgate before. Keen to get to some flatwater. Any recommendations? Only free til about 2pm so hopefully wind is up early. What's best tide wise etc? Cheers.

Kited Brighton for the first time today Burkey, found it challenging and definitely not "flat" water. Was quite a handful on my 9m and wish I had an 8 or 7m there for my 65kg. I can't comment on any of the other Brisbane sites but if you're looking for flat water and have the time, I personally believe the drive to Happy Valley in Caloundra would be worth it. You should have an outgoing tide from about 8:30am onwards which suits the site but be wary, king tides are around so current will be strong. Particularly between 10:30am and 12:30pm where there will be almost a half meter drop in tide per hour pouring out of Pumicestone Passage. Good luck with it. Gateman. PS: I prefer Happy Valley in the lower half of the tide due to flatter water and more launch/landing area.
