G?day!
I am new in QLD and I want to practice my favorite sport, kiteboarding. The problem is that I am completely lost here, I don?t know where to go and I have plenty of doubts.
I have been doing kiteboarding since 2008 and I have been riding all around the world. (Leucate, Tarifa, Dakhla, Perth, etc.) so I don?t need lessons.
On my last day in Perth, I was lucky to meet Aaaron Hadlow and Sam Light at Woodman Point but unfortunately, I broke my kite. That?s my first question. Where do I have to go to repair my kite? Which is the best place?
Moreover, I don?t know which are the spots here. Can someone list me the spots around Brisbane? (I can drive two hours up north or down south if needed). I know Byron Bay because I have been there and I have seen people kiteboarding.
It would be amazing If I can join group of kiters, is there any here in Brissy? In Perth there is the Perth Kiteboarding gang a buch of kiters that kite together and it?s amazing.
I am looking foward to hear from you!
Wind Regards
I would hit up Moti Levi on the goldy/tweed for the repairs, always does a good job. People do kite in Moreton Bay but I just find it depressing, there is a google map somewhere for SEQ

Hi Spanishkiter,
Welcome to the Queensland Kiting scene. As AP states in his post, if you follow the maps links, you will find a detailed description of many great Kiting locations in South East Queensland, whether you are chasing some waves on beach or point breaks or endeavouring to seek out some of our beautiful and unique flatwater locations. In most places you will find a pretty good crew of Kiters apart from the odd A'hole that comes with the territory wherever one might be but like all of us, please don't let that put you off from enjoying yourself and having a ton of fun as we all try to do.
Sorry just a minor correction on AP's last statement but only Permanent Residents of Queensland, Northern NSW (within approximately 150km's of the QLD Border) & Northern Territory, are able to compete in the Queensland Freestyle Kiteboarding State Titles. So, this excludes from entering, anyone who is a Visitor, Traveller, Working/Holiday/Student Visa Holders. We do not intend to offend, it's just to be fair to the above Permanent Residents as the State Titles is their exclusive competition . There is another competition in late February 2018 called "KiteJam" that is open to others to compete.
Cheers L.I.S.

anyone else been having trouble with this guy down at loders creek?
Today I've been in Sandgate and Brighton recognizing the spot. Do I have to worry about sharks or other dangerous animals?

Generally, no. Just take some precautions - a stinger suit and booties.
