Just arrived in Hobart for a few months with my 8 and 10 m Ozone gear. Would love to join any kiters going out and get to know the area - it looks like a kiter's paradise! I gather a westerly isn't any good? This Thursday looks ok - anyone going out?

Hey, nice to have you for the warm bits.

Yeah tassie gets good conditions and some gusty crap.

The tides also have a big bearing on where to go.
Carlton and clifton beaches are good for waves, also cremorne can be good as well.

There is marion bay for north to north east, out front for waves inside for flat.
Inside the south arm neck in a west or easterly, and mortimer bay for a south west.

Ive mostly windsurfed in tassie so far, so the kiting options are probably more.

Welcome to tassies warm weather

Thanks FoS,
Great, useful info.
Hope to see you and others on the water soon and if I can offer any advice about Gold Coast kiting (my base), I'm more than happy to help.
Fingers crossed for Thursday - Marion Bay at high tide?
Cheers,
Jenny

Hi there, my girlfriend and I are also kiters and have just moved to Hobart from the Gold Coast.
We have all our own gear and are super keen to meet other kiters and go kiting!!

Can someone please add me to the whatsapp group for the Hobart area too?

Cheers!
