Had one of those epic sessions not far from home on the weekend.... sun was out, light offshore wind and an empty peak. 3 of us paddled out straight into an awesome starter.... followed by the full main course!! We didn't have it all to ourselves for the whole session.... but certainly not complaining!!

Nice spot Emeboy. I know where it is. Only surfed it a few times due to too many proners. But yeah it's nice when you get onto them.
Actually I remember seeing similar conditions when about 20 years younger when I arrived with mates on prone boards. We were so excited! And was a good session not to forget.
Cheers & have fun.

Nice little session this morning on small waves, alone with a friend. Just 5mn of walking got us away from the crowds. On my trusty Gong Alley 8'1"... with Quobba Carbon fins.

Nice pics. The black board looks sharp. Down this way it has been pretty flat since Friday.

Well, here we have a peak that focus even the smallest swell, even at high tide. But it has become a crowd magnet :-(

And it allowed to break my record of consecutive surfing days... 6!
I am totally destroyed, today I am just resting, I ache everywhere.

Sunday had a decent size however, with 90% of the crowd cancelled because of the ultra strong rips that pulled them fast offshore. Funny you didn't had swell down there. Between your location and mine, the Graviere was even impressive: Vincent Duvignac on Sunday:

Had an adrenalin packed weekend surfing and sup surfing down south, for a metro warrior like me the weekends swell but pretty bloody big! Had an amazing and exhausting time, really lucky to have easy access to that part of the world.

Really gets the heart rate up when the sets stand up and march towards you down there, even more so when occasionally you get called to have a crack from the crew who are not in position (this is rare but happens)

I got an amazing perspective on the SUP and managed to stay out the way and get some ridiculously long waves on the SUP - bit of chop on the open face which made it really hard but all worth it. Getting through some fat sections and having it wall up and race away down the reef was the highlight on a few.

There were a few I pulled back on that on reflection I should have gone for but at the time survival instinct told me to let it go! Also with a crew on the inside letting a lot go through was the right thing to do, not that it gets you any kudos or reprieve from the stink eye but its all good

Supported local cafe and bars in the area, checked out a couple of epic surf shops - absolute board porn!

Amazing run of swell on the South coast this weekend.... Managed to get the new sled out on a favorite little peak before the crowd got to heavy....

Some nice little waves here in Wales last weekend.

Currently a 17ft swell combine with 50mph winds, so stuck to putting the video together from Sunday.
p.s. the surfski at the end is apparently still in low earth orbit...

Thanks! That looked like great fun. Beautiful stills mixed throughout. Looked like a Placid? What size?
Cheers

Cheers Bob,
good eyes, it is indeed a Placid 8'7. Stills were from the same beach, but from last year. All vid taken in the same day.

Good surfing casso, have you surfed the revolution? If so any comparison to the style, the thing I like the most about your video/posts is you keep the bloopers in! Keeping it all very real!

Looked like fun once again Haddock!

Casso, style'n as always discoman!

My Soloshot tag was dead after fully charging.... so once again... the biggest swell of the year so far is only a fish story

I managed to get this in "manual" mode, just as the swell started to ramp up. Got bigger for the next 2 hours.
Who knew that the flashing green light meant it wasn't filming...so apparently, I shut it off
The Wedge earned it's keep on some big walls.... holy moly is it fast.

My buddies paddle visible on the left.

Only did a little flat water paddle, but certainly no bad traits.
Rails awash as designed, I don't have to move far to sink the tail.
Hexatraction good grip and not hard on the feet.
Managed to hurt my back on the OC1 on the following morning, so further paddles on hold for now.

Absolute cracker conditions this morning... Tail end of the Easterly cyclone swell that has been smashing NZ made it all the way to the Illawarra... Just in time for the massive southerly swell due to arrive tomorrow!!

Great to have met up with you this morning. Enjoyed watching your last left hander.
My foilboarding session was pretty good too.
