I had 8 months of not surfing to catch up on, bit rusty but had a ball just the same. Thoroughly enjoyed the company and appreciate the effort shown by all involved. It was good to catch up with Lance, Pup & Surfbroker and Ronnie Goddard made an appearance yesterday arvo and stuck around for a good chat.

Had a cool hand slap with MR while paddling out as he was styling in on a nice glassy peeler too, good times and OB would have approved.

That Cow Bommie red was really not the thing to scoff before going out for the second wave of the day....

I sent a message to Lynda, OB's wife. Saying that we took a photo with his board, drank a toast of his favourite red and paddled out to say a few words, have a prayer from Bazz and leave a pair of boardies on the bottom at his favourite break. She responded saying "That's so lovely, I was just telling the kids (his daughters) how wonderful you've been (meaning the SBers here), he was so lucky to have such great mates"

So thanks lads, from Lynda, to all those who turned up at drinks and dinner on Friday, two brilliant sessions on Saturday and the toast to OB, and the final surf on Sunday morning. It was a blast and my mate Mick who's not on the forum yet, may just join now that he's seen what all the fuss is about.

Sunday morning for me wasn't too bad, spent a white out the back chatting with Ron Goddard about the 12 footer he was on. Then I dropped in on him - kinda - he wasn't going to make the close out anyway, well at least that's what he said when I said thanks for not calling me off.... ----- well, that's my story and I'm going to stick to it....

V, where are my photos!

Fun in the surf Al? Sure, Mick had fun alright. He went waveless yesterday morning until about 9am, yes, we were still out at 9am. At one point I counted 38 people out..... he gets a little intimidated by the crowds so lets too many go through.

He's a good mate, and one you can count on for a good laugh, a lift, or to fix your (insert mechanical device here) just don't tell him you have an old board you don't need, he can't help himself......

It was great to see the old faces and new on the Saturday morning at spot X and the latte sippers later @ Woopi..

The idea of a pair of OB's boardies on the bottom is a Brilliant idea..

I'll tell him Surfbroker, he's a good bloke indeed. Saved my bacon a few times.

Any time any of you are in Sydney, we have spare boards, plenty of 'em, if you want to catch up and join us at the local.... assuming it's working of course, which it hasn't been of late.

Nope, nothing specific. If it's old, ratty, and cheap, he's more likely to grab it. The back story is that his workshop is around the corner from Bennett's. All the backpackers and hipsters go to Bennett's for a look, wanting to trade their old piece of junk. Bennett's don't really want it. Usually he pays for the board with service, he's a mechanic and he's often got an old board for the cost of a pink slip and a set of brake pads, or a service on a Harley or something as equally funny. He pulled one out of a rubbish skip, made it water tight and still surfs it a bit. I dunno how he gets used to any board, there seems to be a different one on his favourites list every weekend.

He did like OB's white DJB at Arra on the weekend and yesterday he surfed OB's first glass board, a Soul Surf yellow think that looks like the Queen Mary.....

I'm in, but i'm jammed up with stuff on until Dec 6. Have to go to QLD for Christmas, if the borders are freely open. Haven't seen any family up there for almost 12 months.

Grace is getting lonely, as she's not been in the water since this time last year.

Oh to do a roadie....
I can go 25 km, meaning I can visit Frankston or Ferntree Gully.
If you search either, I don't think you will find they are famous for their surf

I just looked back to when the original trip was, and we are border closed probably twice.
Would like to get up your way sometime
