Hi guys,

My shaper has hung up the planer and is off enjoying his retirement so I'm after recommendations for shapers in the metro area. I've since bought a few off the rack but looking for a custom again. I've felt up a couple of Mark Ograms boards which seem pretty nice but keen to hear what others have to say...

cheers in advance

Yes Perth metro but open to using a good shaper from down south. I've pretty much only been riding customs from Bruce Montgomery since I was a grom. I picked up a DHD which works pretty well for my daily driver but looking for a step up.

Being 6 ft and 95kg complicates things a bit so Zacs shapes are well out of my litre range....

I would go the Mark Ogram, not afraid to leave a bit of foam in and distributes it well.

Mark ogram does sick boards for big fellas, I'm 100kg he does the kelvinator, the impersonator which are epic glider, lip smashers does a nice range of 6,4 to 7,0 which would be ideal

chris McKenzie at oceanline does a siiick board as well

ross Rutherford at soul

Al bean down south, I'd go have a look at all the above and see who suits ya best

I think Chris McKenzie is the most underrated shaper around, I've had at least half a dozen boards of him........... they are sick ........

about a a month ago,,, Maldives,,,,, oceanline, 6,6 based loosely on his dugong shape but custom bit thicker and a little more pulled in tail with a slightly different rail ( I like the tail rails to be boxy more so than rounded) I'm 100kg

Vons website boards only go up to 34litres. Obviously anyone 90kg plus is classified As a fat bastard and not worthy of standard dimensions. Z shapes in same boat

ha! i didn't know that, i'm more of a go in and chat, or look at the rack kind of guy. i also try to find 2nd hand older models, and then hone in on what i like if i feel like a change up before getting a freshy custom etc.

+1 chris at oceanline. had 2 customs from him that helped heaps in coming back from bad knee and leg injury. nice guy, quality boards

all just from my opinion of course - heaps of great options above

Anyone ridden Moose boards? He's shaping out of Oceanline and I've seen a few in the lineup, nice clean outlines on em.

I was in there last week putting a board into hospital,, don't know if they were Chris or Moises shapes but they had a few on display in the shop which looked pretty flash... thick little fish things with a wide outline and perfect hip to tail ratio,, also they do a sick coffee in their now too.......
little coffee section on the side, I bought a coffee and looked at all the boards I can't afford at the moment
