If, by some miracle, this comes true, it would be an EPIC Sandy Point speed day, with low tide around 12.30-1.00PM 
No holding my breath though. 
Well that last promise disappeared in to the ether. The 13th ended up 2-5knot NE! 
This one is really teasing now. 3 days out and holding steady.

Amazingly, the tides are right. Low just after mid day!
If the forecasts is right, you will need your smallest sails and boards. We used to use Staboard tack assy upright fins but now use slightly raked (20-30 deg) to better deal with little strands of floating weed. Under 23cm on speed boards.
The big danger is that the wind will end up being too West. The forecasts seems to be holding at 260-250. 260 is OK but water will be bumpier on the run. 250 would be ideal. 270 and it is very hard to get a run. Too broad and no run up behind the dunes.Saturday and Sunday there will be strong winds but it will be too westerly for the speed course.
Oh, and a good 4-3mm sealed wetsuit!

No way to know these days. The weather has gone crazy.
In past years I would have said come for a week at the end of September, start of October. We hardly had a miss all through the 2000's and up until a few years ago of some excellent Sou'westers. Then the weather and seasons went crazy.
I would have said come in late january and strong Eastelies for 2-4 days almost every week would be a sure thing. But the weather and seasons have gone crazy.
There are always some very wild fronts between June and September, the ones that bring the big snowfalls on the mountains, but the days are too short and too cold for sailing, and there is a small daylight window to get the right tides, so most of us don't even think about it in that period. Not much fun sail;ing in 6-8 degree air temp with wind chill factor of around zero.
Well, it the wind doesnt show up, there will be plently of people to talk to.
But forecasts still looking good.
I thought I better tune up my 4.7m, just in case. Then I thought, what the hell, I might as well do the 2013 4.2m as well! Both looked great at the end of it.

Wind ?? is on its way. Was shaking the wind shack at Beachport last night and this morning. Pretty solid breeze.
Too much twist, too little or does it even matter?

I know I tried one 
OK. I am ready to call it for Sandy Point on Monday.
The models all agree it will be WSW and 25-35 knots. Perfect speed angle and strength good for low 40's, maybe more.
Low tide is around 1pm, possibly OK until about 2.30pm, so it will be good all day from early morning until early afternoon.
Don't bother coming without your smaller boards and sails, a warm wetsuit and, most importantly, perserverence and determination. Be prepared to be patient and wait for the good squalls.
