Huuuuge thanks to Wind Surf 'n' Snow (Sam and Rob) for the foil demo day specially after Thursday's horrible news. Shame the wind wasn't better, maybe next time!!!.
Here are some pics of the day

Yep was a great day. Once again Windsurfnsnow steps after what was a shocking last couple of days. Great to see a big smile on Sams dial.

Yeah big thanks to Sam and WindSurfnSnow for running the demo after the horror week they have had.
Congrats to quite a few who had their first flights. The Naish Hover 142 and WS1 foil with a Lift 6.4 sail was foiling in the hands of first time foilers - here is the Long Reef anemometer data for the period we were on the water (yes there may have been stronger gusts on the Lake). But it gives you an idea of the light wind sailing applications.

The photo with the LP strut looks like a Starboard Race fuselage. Looks like somebody has done some nice mod work.

Since I live in the northern hemisphere, I need to ask, what lake is this?

Thanks

No modifications off the shelf carbon foil, has wing covers on.

Thanks, you're right about the LP. I think the photo was not clear enough. At least for my old eyes.

I have the LP, too, and should have been able to recognize the one in the photo.

Since I am shivering under freezing fog in eastern Washington state right now, it is great to follow all you Australian guys during your summer.

By the way, if you want a strut cover for the LP, contact Sailworks in Hood River. They make them for US$60.

Good to hear Segler. Bit warm today, 32 degrees Celsius at the beach and around 41 out west.
It was a fun day and a great community last Saturday.

Hi Ben,
yes it's likely. Sam and WindSurfnSnow are keen to do it again.
Keep an eye on their WSNS FaceBook page for announcements.
This weekend doesn't look suitable - but possibly the following one if the forecast looks like a reasonable NE.
regards
RobJ

Thanks Rob. Didn't know you'd got in to foiling.

Yes Ben, Ive been foiling about a year. Frustrated with the lack of wavesailable NorEasters at Longy these days and lack of time on the water. I bought the Naish Hover 122 and windsurf foil and simply put my wave sails straight on that. Ive had a really good experience on it as a light wind setup. Ive foiled a lot of NEasters at Narrabeen Lake (with a really great regular crew of sailors there) and have started to foil in the ocean now a bit too. When the wind picks up I go wavesailing. yep as Larko said a small hammerhead off Collaroy/Narrabeen not in the lake. A group of 4 just cruising north outside the break wanted to look at the foil I think. I suspect there are only bull sharks in the Lake (... he says mostly joking)

Was the hammer head on the lake or ocean?

Peterowensbabs - the hammerhead was in a group of 4 cruising off Collaroy/Narrabeen beach. Definitely the ocean NOT the lake.
