At the last Windsurfing NSW meeting, some class representatives gave Richie their draft 20/21 sailing season calendar.
Richie has posted the dates by class and it can be found at www.windsurfingnsw.com/calendar/
Looks like there are entries for:
Slalom & GPS
Raceboards
Waves
Windsurf LT
but none for
Foils / Formula
Trust me Berowne there will be plenty of foil/formula to be inserted, Glen is finalising details and slotting everything in.
Interesting the race board Nationals will clash with the wallys nats
You can thank the Windsurfer Class Association for that yet again despite the Raceboard organizors making every attempt to avoid this for the 2nd year running.
It would seem they would prefer to exclude competition from any of the Raceboard fleet.
In case you haven't noticed there is a virus thing floating around , which the Windsurfer Class had to postpone a world event !

Thanks for pointing that out
Enjoy your championships , we should still get over a 100 boards at the newest yacht club in Australia !

Outstanding
I would have thought you would be looking at 150 entries given the class has been going gangbusters.
at last night's WNSW meeting, Bushfire presented the draft foiling calendar.
Richie has uploaded them to www.windsurfingnsw.com/calendar/
Thanks for sharing the calendar, great to see such a full program of windsurfing/foiling in NSW. Just wondering if the Slalom/GPS committee would consider holding GPS event 5 on 6/7 Feb 21 at Lake George SA?
By the end of the season, I expect the foils to have some of the largest racing fleets.
20 foil IQ packages land in July and Starboard could sell more.
You have to talk to Murray & Byron about the GPS calendar.
Looks like we lost Foil #6 !
The NSW Foil champs is provisionally on 19th & 20th Dec on Lake Illawarra. At this stage I think it will be a stand-alone event (i.e. not part of the NSW Series). I need to get the final OK-to-run from the host club.
There are 6 rounds in the NSW Series, one NSW Champs & the Nats at RQ in late Jan 2021 (provisionally).

Unfortunately Dezza, the calendar is full to the brim and trying to avoid clashes with sanctioned events on State and National level is hard enough let alone working around the mass migration to lake George in February. We'd hope the people intending to go to SA in February can attend both events by delaying departure to SA, given it's flexible nature.
I also heard the forecast for 8-12th of February 2021 is looking horrible and the lake will be very deep and not conducive to record breaking conditions, on a positive note from the 12th Feb onward the conditions look special.
From that best to arrive at Lake George from the 12th February.

Please note, after further consideration the Committee has "listened to the people" and rescheduled Heat 5 to encourage maximum participation and to avoid the conflict with the Lake George gathering, so no excuses for not coming to this great event and location.
The revised Calendar for the NSW Slalom and GPS Series is as follows and will be updated on the Windsurfing NSW calendar shortly.
Heat 1 - 24th or 25th October, Koonawarra Bay (One day event)
Heat 2 - 14th or 15th November, Lake Macquarie TBA (One day event)
Heat 3 - 4th, 5th and 6th December, Myall Lake (3 day event)
Heat 4 - 9th or 10th January, Shingle Splitters Point, Lake Macquarie (One day event)
Heat 5 - 27th and 28th February, Myall Lakes (two day event)

Very unfortunate that the LT & RB, states & nationals, are scheduled to clash!
I was intending to compete in the major events for both classes as part preparation for the LT Worlds. I know others had similar intention.

All booked for the two Myall events. Sounds like bookings have been pretty solid. Not a lot of cabins available.
Will there be classes Within the foil racing - like formula foil, IQ foil & open IQ, and maybe newcomers with free ride gear?
At this stage we don't see that splitting the foil fleet into multiple classes serves much purpose. Obviously the IQ Olympic class is the big new thing and we definitely want to support it, while not alienating non-IQ foilers.
It really depends upon numbers which we don't know until the season starts.
From previous seasons the two divisions in the series are open foil and free foil (which caters for those new to racing and/or using freeride equipment).
As the foil racing series in NSW is still in the "early growth" phase the overriding philosophy is the be all-inclusive to try maximise participation which probably means minimising equipment rules and divisions.
The NOR for the upcoming series is still in draft form so the fine details of the divisions hasn't been tied down.
Thanks - what is max sail size for open foil ?
Last year there was no limit; a couple of guys had 10's, most of us used 9's

I spoke with Glen today. NOR is still being developed, but sounds like it'll be similar to last year and no limit.
