Well another year bites the dust and its on again. The 2020 Sandy Bay Regatta Dash for Cash outside the Seagrass restaurant (fomally Prossors). Briefing is at 2pm with a 3pm start. Entry fee is free this year. Buoyancy vests are not compulsory but please wear one if you are unsure. This year will be the same setup as last year with longboards in a separate division to the freeride and slalom boards. No kites sorry but foil windsurfers are allowed. We will start everyone together with the longboards below the rest of the fleet at the starting line. If anyone has any questions please text or phone me. The race will be as always across the river to a buoy and back to the beach. There may be some mini races after the main race. Prize money split 50/50 between longboards and slalom/freeride.

Thanks for organising once again Steve - and having the longboard division. If we're not camping I'll be there.

Saw a dude on a wally today.
Ripping the Pit.

1985. Circa style.

15 kg of pure fun.
200metre rides.
Awesome.
2 foot waves, center board up, killing it. Yew.

Great event.
Might suit the centreboards/LT's with the westerly forecast.

Ok its done and dusted for another year. Came in a solid 20 knots 15 mins before the start. No one could make it around the top mark without putting in a few jibes and takes. Congrats to Dave, Will and Allan who held down 8.6 in 20 plus knots, great effort.
Results are:
Slalom/freeride/foil division
1st Dave Morehead (Dave owns this race)
2nd Rob Gough (on a foil which was insane and first around the mark)
3rd Steve Charles
Long Board Division
1st Ian Johnson (came all the way from the NW coast for this event, nice work mate)
2nd Travis Woods
3rd Vietzy

Nice one Steve. Well done for organising once again.
Vietzy, what gear were you using?
That big yellow banana board?
Wish I was there.

Sorry guys but should have said a massive well done to all the long boards. Sailing those boards in 20/25 knots is an awesome effort. WELL DONE

Thanks for organising the event again this year Steve. Great effort. Reminiscent of the old days of the Dash-for-Cash with so many different types of boards competing!
