I have stuffed up and rolled my Ozone Enduro V2 up tight and stored it over the summer. This has resulted in the plastic connection to the tube to snap.

Has anyone glued this component back together again? As it seems a waste to replace the bladders as they are fine when only the plastic component has snapped .

Let me know what glue you used and I will buy you a beer or two if you are in SYD.

It's theoretically possible to glue the valve but the long term chances aren't great (small leaks as it starts to fail again and then catastrophic failure). I'd not try glue unless its a holiday repair. I used stormsure glue to repair a cracked valve (no more than 50% broken) whilst on holiday (wrapped the repair in self amalgating tape to help take the load) and it did stay air tight for a few months but my anxiety about whether the next session would result in a swim got to me and I replaced it.

You don't need to replace the whole bladder though. Just get a new valve. Cut the old one off (because its laser welded and not glued) and replace it with a new one. For a really strong finish put a layer of tear-aid on the inside of the strut and then the valve on top. That will give you a bombproof repair that won't fail. Remember to mark the exact direction of the outlet or you'll get a slight kink when you fold it (ask me how I know )

Had the same issue on a edge v7 and used aquaseal similar to stormsure.
Worked fine for quiet a while and was still good, but when another strut did the same I replaced all the struts. IMO that stick on valve looks like the best option.

I'm surprised as supposedly after the V1 enduro all the valves were meant to be stronger and be more UV resistant.

Quite a common ozone problem

Do yourself a favour mate don't mess around replacing valves or repairing this one. Unfortunately once one of the black right angled valves has gone you are on borrowed time with the others.

Ozone luckily have upgraded the valves on their replacement bladders.

Buy a new set of v2 bladders - they have the full back catalogue of kites available and the new valves are clear plastic with bigger hoses which will not have this issue. The replacement price is good also.

Pm me your location and I can let you know your local dealer who can get these for you.

Don't bother with stick on old style grey valves for this kite just get a new V2 bladder set. Prices are very reasonable - 8m and smaller are $160 and 9m and larger are $190
Ozone has made the V2 bladders backwards compatible with all their previous models. V2 bladders are high flow and the hoses don't kink when deflating (need to be trimmed to the right length when fitting) and are a nice upgrade for older kites.

How we store kites is one of the reasons there are so many bladder and valve issues across all brands. Hot cars along with humidity and UV exposure are the main causes. The same conditions really damage boards too, especially heat and UV.

Any Ozone dealer can supply the bladders and the most common sizes are kept in stock in Australia.
