Hi all season's greetings..
FWIW..
The Spitfire channel weather station is on a big pole at sea.. this infra-structure is being replaced (Off to the side of the Shipping channel between North end Moreton Island and Mid-Bribie Island) so the wind chart has been dead for a few months...
As an interim Laurie (v.responsive and helpful = g8).has updated the display chart with the feed from the Inner Beacon which is approx 22 kms to the south but still gives a clean wind read way less biased by the seabreeze. So not that dissimilar to the Spitfire reading..
The plan is to revert to the Spitfire channel feed once it is back online..
As a sideline question - does anyone know who handles the wind readings from the observation tower on the Noosa river spit?
The COASTAL Watch camera is on the same building so the infra-structure is there..
Cheers

The BOM have a new bit of infra-structure replacing defunct Spitfire Channel. This is in the same zone but further North called North West 10 Beacon.
NW10 Beacon is on the SBreeze APP and web charts but the graphs displayed for Sunshine coast are different - the web is G8...
(EDIT - Sorry just checked again - the NW10 beacon has gone from the web display back to inner beacon - my imagination??)
I for 1 like the new graphs displaying the forecasts but put a way higher priority real time wind graphs.. Not sure what the new APP layup is really presenting for the Sunshine coast.. There only 3 graphs of wind on my location based display 2 are the same = Sunshine Coast and Maroochydore and the NW 10 beacon.. Will be emailing Laurie to see if the APP can mimic the web...
Why?
The outlier graphs .. Feeds from Moreton and Double Island give U a heads up for the Seabreeze and prevailing directions... Hervey Bay is good for the locals there not really useful for Sunshine Coast but needs to be somewhere.. The Tewantin feed is not that relevant it is at Noosa Marina on the small bluff which is a bit over 4kms inland as the crow flies from the river mouth.

For forecasting I find the Predict Wind app using the PWG modelling option nails it for detail
Hi AP,
You're barking up the wrong tree mate,
Grab the Holfuy app and add the new cotton tree wind gauge and the sunrise one as favorites. Much more accurate for where you live.

P.s. I've heard there's a Kawana holfuy coming soon as well

re-barking likely a Lemon tree -- brilliant.. 4Some reason the Holfuy QLD index doesn't include this one --
Big thank you..
U sprung the Sunrise one on me too years back !!
Do you know where this one is located? Is it on top of a hi-rise?? So, what is it's bias??
Cheers

Sunrise one is positioned just at the grassy little green patch ontop the hillside next to the road where everyone pulls up to sus the swell. We put it there to keep an eye on paragliders cause its a really "restricted" launch site no cameras etc etc cause some rich wanker thinks were filming him thru his bedroom window as we fly down the beach. Not sure what ogleby is doing that hes so paranoid about bit of a streisand effect that one must be weird stuff
Cotton tree station is just behind the dune fence, in front of the caravan park, adjacent to 2nd sandbag wall.
Kawana station will be on the surf club tower - possibly mid next week.
